Abnormally, in addition to the minutes of the last meeting now submitted for approval, a much ruller confidential record of the meeting has been circulated. It was felt that as this record had exceptionally been made it might be useful to members but it is not proposed to circulate such a fuller record in future. "Gent's convent.

Lention points arising from minutes of last meeting such as the circulation to members of the Development Report.
Say that in connection with Professor Penson's question at the last meeting as to the present day interpretation of the founder's purposes, Miss Margery Perham the official biographer of Lord Lugard has kindly promised to look out for any likely papers throwing light on this matter and to inform Mr. Cox if any papers are found.

Mr. Sloss's report on the supplies position for equipment. Telegram received from the Commander in Chier, Hong Kong. (No. H.K.U.A.C. 17).
Discussion of the principal difficulties in the way of giving effect to the first resolution carried at the first meeting held on January 18th, namely, that the Committee wishes to see the University restarted in such a way as to carry out the original purposes of the founder. It is suggested that these might be discussed under the following heads:-
(a) Political.
(i) Situation if Chinese should take over Hong Kong. (ii) Situation if Chinese should boycott the University. (iii) Alternative and cheaper means of effecting same political ends i.e. by extensive scholarships in this country etc.,
(b) The conception of a single university for the Far East
(H.K.U.A.C. No. 2 paragraph 10) in relation to the need for a Malayan university referred to at the first meeting. (c) Financial.
(i) Possible criticism that expenditure might be wasted
